The US will ensure that other countries know that the coronavirus has its origin in China: Mike Pompeo

The United States is working with other countries to ensure that they understand that the coronavirus originated in Wuhan, China, said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Pompeo emphasized that it is the burden of explaining where the virus comes from, and Pompeo told The Ben Shapiro Show in a Friday interview that China was aware of the virus in December 2019.

We must hold the parties responsible for the deaths here in the United States and the huge economic costs imposed on the US, he said.

Pompeo said the entire global economic system has been decimated.

“Diplomatically, we are reaching out to countries around the world to help them do the right thing, get their economies going again, ensure that when the time comes, we can get international travel going again, so that global trade can start again, he said.

If you get another question, it will make a lot of difference to workers here in the United States of America, he said.

We are also working with those countries to ensure that they understand that this is, in fact, a virus originating from Wuhan, China, and that the Chinese government was certainly aware of this in December 2019, ” he said.

“… and that they (China) did not meet their most fundamental obligations as a nation and, most importantly, did not meet the World Health Organization’s international health regulations and then did many things and we can talk at length about covering it up, Pompeo added.

Those are the things the US needs to address, he said.

Pompeo claimed that the World Health Organization failed to meet its mission to protect the world from the pandemic.

We are not going to let that happen again and we are going to set up something, a system that delivers a result that reduces the risk that something like this could ever happen again, from China or anywhere else, he said.

Pompeo responded to a question, saying that even the world’s largest companies can now see the political risk associated with operating in China.

When the Chinese Communist Party refuses to uphold the basic standards of transparency, the basic set of functions that protect human rights, and the things that need to be done to keep the world from going into crisis, as I think from their own economic interests they make very different decisions in the future. I think that’s perfectly appropriate to evaluate that, he said.

Meanwhile, Robert O’Brien, national security adviser in an interview with NPR, said it is the burden for the Chinese to explain where the virus comes from. But there is a laboratory in Wuhan that deals with these types of viruses. And we need to know if there was some kind of release. Coincidentally, perhaps. ‘

“We don’t know where the virus came from. Maybe it came from a wet market in Wuhan. Maybe it came from one of the two virology labs in Wuhan, “O’Brien said.

In a statement, Congressman Jeff Van Drew called on the Chinese government to play their role in the “death, destruction, and neglect” of human decency in their behavior in addressing the coronavirus outbreak.

Every American of every background and creed should be enraged at China for neglecting human well-being amid the cover-up of the Corona virus in which they participated, “he said.

“If we had known before, or if the Chinese government had been honest, we wouldn’t be in the position we are today,” he said.

We have relied on China for far too long to provide cheap labor and goods at the expense of America and our workers. We need to bring that supply chain home and close the export gap we have; It’s time to hold China accountable for their actions, Drew said.

Congressman Michael Waltz introduced legislation on Friday in the United States House of Representatives that would prohibit members of the U.S. military and federal employees from financing the Chinese People’s Liberation Army through their federal retirement plans.

It’s absolutely crazy that our military and federal workers are indirectly contributing to China’s military operations, and what’s worse, almost all of these people are totally unaware of this situation, Waltz said.

Congressman Waltz’s bill would ban the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB), all five of whom had been appointed by President Barack Obama to send the retirement contributions of military and federal workers to China.

Each month, 5.6 million U.S. military members and federal employees work together to contribute to the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), a 401K-style plan taken from their salaries.

The TSP, which is managed by the FRTIB, is responsible for more than $ 700 billion in assets, making it one of the world’s largest pension funds.
